Weekly News

It has been another busy week in 6M. Swimming started this week and all students that are involved are having a great time learning new water safety skills. It is great to see so many parents at the pool supporting their children.
We have continued on with our claymation activities and are just about ready to start with the construction of our sets. It is really interesting to see the different ways in which students show their knowledge and understanding.
The Level 4 Team hosted the first Graduation meeting of 2010. It is fantastic to see so many parents wanting to be involved with the school. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 16th September at 4pm in the staff room.
Also this week I was able to have a look inside the new building. It is still a little off being completed but it is starting to take shape and we are all getting very excited about being able to use it in the near future. I am extremely excited at the prospect of having a kitchen space for cooking with the students.
Literacy and Numeracy week begins on the 6th of September. The whole school will be involved in a multi-age activity morning on Wednesday between 9 am and 11am. Then on Friday there will be a Dress Up Day and Parade. This year Grade 6M have decided to all come as characters from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. It is great to see that the grade have united to work together on this project.

6M Weekly News

It has been another busy week in room 3. We have just started a new writing project that includes making a clay animation, which is something that we are all looking forward to. I've ordered the plasticine and have got everything ready to go. I will keep you updated with our progress and of course publish our finished productions.
We are all getting very excited about the district athletics next Thursday. It is fantastic to see that all the student are practising to further develop their skills in their events. It will be a very exciting day and it would be fantastic if parents are able to attend to support the children. Don't forget to return your permission note and money ASAP.
Swimming will be starting on the 23rd of September. If there are any parents wanting to attending over the nine days, please feel free to do so. There are a couple of seats available on the bus if you would like to travel with us. However, if you want to come on the bus please contact me so I can arrange it. Don't forget to return your permission note ASAP.

LEVEL 4 CAMP 2010

In Week 2 most of the Grade 5/6 students headed of to ACE -HI RANCH for a 5 day camp. We all had a fantastic time and there were too many highlights to highlight. Everyone seemed to love the flying fox, giant swing and rock climbing wall. But without a doubt the most talked about activity was the horse riding. So many students and teachers participated and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.
It was great seeing the students in such an informal environment and really trying there best to give everything a go. It was so lovely to hear all the fantastic comments from the camp staff about how well behaved and polite all the KPS students were.
Unfortunately camp is over for another year, but it won't be long til the next camp for Grade 5/6 rolls around.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to SAMANTHA for her outstanding organisation. We can all rely on Sam to be organised in the classroom. She is super at keeping our classroom clean and tidy and is always prepared to lend a helping hand. Well Done for being so fabulous!

In Week 4 we will be doing house athletics at Springfield oval and school. In Week 5 we will welcome Miss Embray to our class, a student teacher, she will be with us for three weeks. Then in Week 6 we will be going to district athletics. Week 7 we start swimming and then in the last week of term we will be celebrating FOOTY DAY!!!!! While all this is happening the students, teachers and parents are going to start preparing for Graduation.
